Reduce Stress And Anxiety With Loving-Kindness Meditation

Numerous studies have highlighted the benefits of meditation and mindfulness practices for reducing stress and anxiety. This is an ancient practice (called “metta”) that consists of a simple recitation of phrases that send well wishes to a person you love, then to an expanding ripple of others.

In addition to calming our “monkey mind”, this meditation has the positive side-effect of increasing our compassion. Don’t hesitate to include yourself in the list of people you send well wishes to. This version is guided by Barbara Fredrickson, a recognized positive psychology expert.

Try and practice this Loving-Kindness meditation once a day and notice the impact it has on your wellbeing and maybe your ability to feel more compassionate towards yourself, as well as others.
